On 2nd of May 2019, Deakin University's Beta Alpha Psi officially became installed as Xi Kappa. We would like to thank everyone in attendance today, as well as everyone who has supported us through our journey so far, whether it be international or domestic. Xi Kappa is proud to be the 332th member of the Beta Alpha Psi family.


On 26th- 28th April 2019 Beta Alpha Psi had a regional meeting in Oceania, hosted by Beta Alpha Psi - Xi Epsilon, Monash University. Xi Kappa members had a wonderful time & unlimited opportunities for professional development, networking with professionals and other students, honing of leadership skills and sharing of valuable ideas about chapter operations and competing in Best Practices and volunteering at CERES Joe's Market Garden


Alma Besserdin, who came to Australia as a woman immigrant, established the organisation Wimmigrants as a platform for women immigrants to achieve their career aspirations and to encourage leadership in the workforce. Besserdin shared insights about about leadership and teamwork for BAP Members.


The Deakin BAP team had their very first service event for the year. A few of the members were able to donate blood and plasma at the Mt Waverley Donor Centre. It was a very enjoyable experience for both new and existing donors.


On Wednesday 3rd April, Victor Perton, a former parliamentarian and author of 'The Case for Optimism: The Optimists' Voices' gave a presentation to the students about resilience, self-effacing humous and positivity in effective leadership. This was a very insightful and valuable experience and we would like to extend our thanks to Victor for his time.


BAP team visited Ego Pharmaceuticals' state of the art facilities in Braeside. An informative presentation was given on the organisation, its history and its expansion to overseas markets with students having the opportunity to ask their own questions. The tour also provided the team with an insight into how the various products were manufactured as well as the labs where thorough testing of the products took place. It was a very enjoyable experience and a big thank you to Ego Pharmaceuticals for the exclusive opportunity and the gift bags that were distributed to the BAP team.


we held our BAP Social Event at the Burwood Corporate Centre! It provided a great opportunity for new students to acquire more information about BAP, meet the existing team and take a break from study and classes by engaging in team building activities. The afternoon concluded with a pizza luncheon and a chance for everyone to get to know one another as well as ask any questions they had. A wonderful turnout and a huge thank you to all who attended! Great start to T2!

SGDs - Making Sure the Future is in Good Hands

On Tuesday 16th July, Bap Members travelled to Deakin Downtown for an exclusive event with United Nations Association of Australia (UNAA) which was centred around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of Quality Education, Decent work and economic growth and Partnerships. It provided a great opportunity to hear from experienced leaders in the corporate sector who kindly shared their experiences and advice with the students.


BAP attended the CPA Profession Session that was centred around “Supporting You in Landing Your Dream Job”. The evening provided students with the opportunity to listen to esteemed guest speakers from CPA, Coles, Telstra and Accent Group and ask the panel questions on various topics surrounding the accounting industry. There was also opportunities to get one-to-one career mentoring from industry professionals and to network as well.
